Its been a full week!

It seems like every night last week we had something going on. One day my  friend Lisa and I went and picked blackberries from a farm where they had thorn less black berries. We made blackberry jam and it is really yummy.
Her kids.Being goofballs as usual:)
Thursday morning I woke up at 4:45 and heading to a farm near our house where my friend lives to see 19 hot air balloons go off! It was so amazing.

One even landed in our neighborhood. A bunch of kids were lining up to take a ride in it!

Later that day I went to Portland with two awesome girls. We spent around 3 hours in there I think when you hit that mark you just go crazy in that store. I love those girls we laughed so hard and had amazing talks too. Then when I  got home I headed to a local brewing company with Brandon to see some guys from his work play in a band. I forgot my camera the whole day.

Over the weekend we went to Bend with Richard and Lisa and camped one night on the Metolius River with some of their friends they did a marriage class with.  They were all the sweetest people and were the kind of people that you feel like you have known forever right when you meet them!
We were laughing about how the picture above looks like a family Christmas picture.ha!There not even our kids. The two girls are always trying to make us laugh and they sure are good at it.  We love hanging out with this family!
Hope you all are having a great week!

Weekend Recap

Brandon and I had such a fun weekend together in the sun. These last weeks of summer we really have wanted to soak it all up before school starts again.  Friday we spent the whole day at the river in Brownsville just the two of us and Oliver. Then that night we went out to Ruby Tuesday's and laughed a lot with our friends Tatum and Cody.
Saturday we decided to go on a drive to Mt. Angel since we had both have never been there to check it out.
Saturday Evening we headed to the first Recycled Love festival for awareness of Human Sex Trafficking. My passion for this issue came from when I was in India with YWAM. We went to the Red light district in Mumbai and saw little girls where there parents had sold them into sex slavery and woman that were forced into the industry and were left with AIDS. My heart broke as we talked with these woman, some of them who had been in there since they were FIVE years old and new NO other life.  As a christian I know I am compelled to have a voice and do everything I can to stop it. It is not only a issue in India, but a huge issue in our country as well. Portland Oregon is the number one area for Sex trafficking in the United States. I couldn't believe that when I heard it.
The father that the movie Taken was made after spoke. He was blunt and passionate and said that we dont give a damn about anything until it affects us personally. That is true,we don't and we NEED to.  There are many organizations in our area that you can get involved with that rescue these woman and put them into safe houses.  The human sex traffiking number to call if you know someone who has been taken is 1-888-3737-888.

Sunday we went to church and right after we headed to Silver Falls to hike around. I hadn't been there since a highschool marketing trip and Bran had NEVER been there.  I think it  has now become one of our favorite places to go!

Bran's Birthday

Today is actually the day of my hubby's birthday. Since we were in Bend over the weekend and all of our family is over there we decided to celebrate then. And tonight we are actually celebrated my wonderful hubby's bday AGAIN!  I did a black and orange theme since he loves the Oregon State Beavers.

I made pumpkin spice orange cupcakes that I forgot to take a picture of and these chocolate cupcakes.
Hubby and my daddy
I was pretty proud when everyone came wearing orange and black!
I made my mom's recipe for Mint Chocolate Chip Oreo Ice cream cake today and it is SO good and easy to make. Here's the recipe.

Mint Chocolate Oreo Ice cream Cake
1 box Oreos
1 bottle Hershey chocolate syrup
1 square box of Mint Chocolate Ice Cream
1/4 cup butter

1.Spray 9X13 with Pam lightly.  Roll Oreos with rolling pin until crushed and place in bowl.
2.Melt 1/4 cup butter and pour into bowl of crushed Oreos. Then place the 1/2 bowl of crushed oreos into the 9x13 and press down firmly to form a crust.
3.Next unwrap all sides of the square ice cream container and cut with a knife 4 slices of icream about 1/2inch width to place into 9x13 pan. Arrange all of the ice cream on top of the crust carefully making sure that you are not mixing the crust and ice cream.
5. Squirt all of the Hershey syrup on top of the ice cream.
6. Sprinkle the rest of the crushed oreos over the top and freeze overnight.

My mom has made this cake with Rocky Road Ice cream  and it turned out really rich. I am sure it would taste great with just about any Ice cream. Try it-I am sure you will LOVE it!

Wedding Season!

Friday we left Albany and headed to Bend for a wedding! My friend from high school was getting married.I am so HAPPY for her. I have so many fun memories with her from being in church small group together, dances in high school and many more. The wedding was at a golf resort called Pronghorn and was so beautiful! It was definitely one of the nicest weddings I have ever been to, or  think I will EVER go to! My Mom and my brother and his wife also came to the wedding, so we all had a lot of fun eating, eating and eating and dancing together. The food was really good.
My mom HAD to take a picture before we left.

She was such a gorgeous bride.

It was really nice to see my brother and his wife. We missed our niece, Madalynn though!

The sunset was breath taking! I think you can never capture enough of em.
I also had Brandon's birthday party this weekend, I will post on that soon. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Camping Weekend!!!

Friday Morning we left and heading to Twin Lakes to camp and there ended up being no campsites left so we camped at Craine Prairie. It was so beautiful there. Whenever Brandon and I go back to Central Oregon we always are amazed at how beautiful it is. Not that where we live is ugly, its just not the same.

Oliver couldn't stop kissing Hannah, Brandon's cousin

Brandon, his brother and his dad all got up  early Saturday morning and headed out to go fishing. Last summer Brandon taught me how to fish and every time we would go out we both NEVER got even a bite. When I heard Brandon had caught seven fish I was sooo excited for him.
My proud hubby and his fish!
Saturday was so relaxing we just laid on the huge raft and got some big tan lines.
Saturday night we spent the night in Bend at my parent's house. We went to cuppa yo a really yummy yogurt place and went to a old car show.
Here I am with my parents
Brandon's fav

 My fav

This morning we went to church with my parents and a guest speaker said  this in his message,"You can't receive God's love until you Trust Him." This statement really made me think about areas of my life that I may not trust God in completely, and therefore am not fully receiving Christ abundant love.  The Lord is so faithful and has proven that time and time again to me. I know that I need to  remind myself often of times when He has directed me,provided for me, and comforted me.So often I get worried about something and not trust that God will reveal to me his plan. It an American way of thinking I guess of wanting everything fast and not willing to wait. What do you guys think about this topic?
Sister's Mountains on our way home

We are so tired from being in the sun all weekend and from unpacking from camping so we are heading to bed early I hope you all had a great weekend!

Double Date

Tonight we had dinner with some of our best friends. It was really nice. The weather has been so hot here so we ate outside. I made an enchilada ring and some fresh green beans from Grandpa's Farm. Those green beans are A-mazing! I just sprinkled a little seasoning salt on them.
Here are the boys chowin down.
We couldn't get a good picture of us girls

He's my lil cuddle bug

After dinner we went and saw Dinner for Shmucks. I laughed so hard I cried. There were moments in the movie that were so awkward to watch I even had to get up and leave! Steve Carell's character reminded me at times of my husband, I think that is why it made me laugh so hard. When I walked into the bathroom I had smeared black eyeliner up to my eyebrows.:) There were some parts of the movie that were crude though and I think they could have done without.
Tomorrow morning we are leaving to go camping for the weekend with Brandon's family at Twin Lakes. So I need to start packing. Hope you all have a great weekend! Enjoy the sun.

Ta da Tuesday

Today I bought pre-made cabinets at Home Depot for the Laundry room. I was really bummed though because over the weekend they were 20% off and today they were not. Don't you hate it when you JUST miss a sale? I knew that Home Depot matched Lowe's coupons so I drove to the Post office and picked up the change of address form that I knew had a 10% off coupon. I am so glad to have some extra storage space.

Look at that excited face to put up some cabinets.:)

Our backyard and the start of a laundry room make over

Here is the old grungy backyard we inherited.  I know it makes you want to start the get togethers, bbq's, and good times right?...
Before

It took a few months and some long days but it's all worth it in the end.
For family that haven't seen our back yard yet-here ya go! My husband and a friend put in the sprinklers. Together Brandon and I  did the stone wall. I really like how it turned out.  Our grass had some bare spots so we added more grass seed recently and put top soil over it. I cant wait till we have nice, thick grass!
After
I love Peony's.  I am so glad I planted some. I am hoping I will catch the green thumb and they won't die.

This weekend we decided to paint our laundry room and hopefully turn it into a bright room that is very functional. I first found a rug that I liked and then I color matched the teal color at Home Depot. Next we are putting white pre-made cabinets above the washer and dryer. Hopefully soon we can replace our old-old washer and dryer. :)

 Before
Still not yet finished, but looking better that's for sure.

Oliver wanted to say hi!  He has had a rough day of laying on the couch.
